C-Red is a rapper and songwriter from Tallahassee, Florida who currently resides in the greater Houston, Texas area. She started rapping in middle school, most heavily influenced by Nas’ Illmatic, and has continued to work on her craft throughout her academic and professional life. Her path as an artist and creative has been different than most of her counterparts, as she has always pursued education and music with the same dedication and passion. She is currently a second0year urologic surgery resident.
In 2021, she started #WhiteCoatWednesdays, posting verses on her Instagram profile every week, to give a glimpse into her commitment to her grind as an artist and as a clinician. This caught the attention of world-renowned drummer, Chris Daddy Dave, who invited her to perform at his monthly residency show in Houston after seeing her post a verse flowing over "Cuffin Season" from his 2020 album with Daniel Crawford.
C-Red and Houston-based production trio, The Roux, released the 6-song EP - HEIR, an acronym for "Having Everything Inside Revealed". This project features a host talented artists and collaborators (4-Ize, Jack Freeman, Vanessa Hill, Tiara Jewel, and Mariah Meshae). Two of her singles from HEIR, "You & Yours" and "Agape" were featured on Sway in the Morning in March 2022.
C-Red has released multiple singles recently. Her collaboration on "No Light Yet" with Matt Cusson & Jarrett Johnson was recently selected for multiple 2023 film festivals. She collaborated with Moo Latte on "Lifelong Dreams" which was released after being turned into a full song from one of her #WhiteCoatWednesday freestyles. She released "Smoke" and "Delayed Gratification" as upcoming singles from her forthcoming album Duty Hours.
C-Red hopes to inspire listeners to never box themselves in, be afraid to exercise both sides of their brains, or unlock their full potential.
